one of ten photos from TIME top ten photos of 2014. shot by tomas van houtryve, this image shows house boats on lake oroville in california, which is currently 70% empty due to the ongoing droughts in the area. van houtryve has been shooting gatherings across america using a camera attached to a drone, much like what is used for surveillance purposes.
