the japanese retail giant, muji, designed a prefab house in tokyo--the muji house. it employs an open floor plan over three levels, maximizing space vertically.   the house includes two bedrooms, a living room, dining room/kitchen and a utility area. the space wouldn't be muji, with plenty of storage and built-ins that accommodate muji storage elements.
